Одиозный российский депутат, лидер «ЛДПР», украинофоб Владимир Жириновский, известный всему миру своими антиукраинскими высказываниями и призывами к разделению Украины, узнав о том, что Константинополь предоставил Украинской православной церкви Томос об автокефалии, и вовсе «потерял землю под ногами». Как пишет PRпортал, во время пропагандистского телевизионного шоу «Вечер с Владимиром Соловьевым», которое транслирует российский телеканала «Россия 1», депутат нелегитимной Государственной думы РФ нагло заявил, что в Украине война будет длиться якобы целых тридцать лет. А причиной тому, по словам скандального политика, будет предоставление Константинополем Украине Томоса об автокефалии украинской церкви. (на видео с 11 минуты 40 секунды).
Таким образом, политик высказал свое бредовое предположение, что такой поворот в истории украинской церкви станет причиной повторения сценария Варфоломеевской ночи, что положило начало тридцатилетней войне в Европе. В частности, Жириновский заявил: «Именно на религиозной почве мы с вами получим войну, которая будет длиться тридцать лет. Четыре года она уже идет. Еще 26 лет в Украине будет проливаться кровь. Православные Московского и Киевского патриархата. И Запад в Стамбуле готовит вам все необходимое для этого. Самым главным врагом христианского мира в настоящее время является Варфоломей!».
