Контесса Бурбон представлялася співробітницею New York Times, наприклад, в травні 2015 року, коли брала нібито від імені видання інтерв'ю у посла Туреччини.

А в травні 2017 року вона відвідала ще один захід, де взяла інтерв'ю у міністра освіти США Бетсі ДеВос.

Як заявляється NYT, Бурбон ніколи не працювала в газеті. У тексті позову говориться, що жінка проігнорувала вимоги видання припинити видавати себе за журналіста.

Більш того, в її профілі в Twitter зазначені ще кілька видань: Journalist for the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, London Times, Guardian, Washington Post: Queen of BARCELONA.

Пізніше з цього опису зникло посилання на New York Times.
