Спикер российского МИДа Мария Захарова процитировала слова экс-премьера Великобритании Маргарет Тэтчер, которых она никогда не произносила.

Как передает PRпортал, ошибку заметил журналист Алексей Ковалев, который отметил, что Тэтчер никогда не произносила русофобских слов. Захарова указала на то, что эта фраза была произнесена британским премьером в 1991 году во время выступления в Хьюстоне. Журналист отметил, что цитата, которую ложно приписывают Тэтчер, присутствует в книге Андрея Паршева «Почему Россия не Америка» 1997 года, однако в исторических документах ее нет. Ковалев рассказал, что с того выступления не сохранилось никаких записей, и некоторые издания только «пересказывали» заявления Тэтчер, но документальных подтверждений этому нет.

«Мария Захарова вышла из отпуска и взялась за дело с утроенной энергией. Вчера она защищала выдуманную цитату из Терезы Мэй, сегодня выкапывает баян 1997 года из книги «Почему Россия не Америка» (Маргарет Тэтчер ничего подобного никогда не говорила и таких записей не существует)», - подчеркнул журналист у себя в Твиттере.
