Єгипетського юриста Набіха аль-Вахша засудили до 3 років ув'язнення за заяву про те, що жінок, які носять рвані джинси, слід карати зґвалтуванням 

Його також оштрафували на 20 тисяч єгипетських фунтів (1 130 доларів США), передає ВВС.

Правник виступав з такими коментарями на телевізійному шоу в жовтні під час дебатів довкола законопроекту про проституцію.

"Вам подобається, коли вулицею йде дівчина, у якої видно половину тіла?" - запитав він і додав:

"Я кажу: коли дівчина ходить ось так, патріотичний обов'язок кожного - сексуально домагатися її, а національний обов'язок - зґвалтувати її".

Вахш також заявив, що жінки, які носять відкритий одяг, "запрошують чоловіків їх переслідувати".

"Захищати мораль - важливіше, ніж захищати кордони", - додав він.

Після публічного скандалу чоловіку висунули звинувачення.

Національна рада у справах жінок засудила ці висловлювання, заявивши, що це - "кричущий заклик" до зґвалтувань, який порушує "усе в єгипетській конституції".

Вахш і раніше робив неоднозначні заяви.

Зокрема він назвав Голокост "уявним" і оголосив себе гордим антисемітом.

"Якщо я побачу ізраїльтянина, то вб'ю його", - сказав він під час іншого телевізійного шоу.
