Прямо напротив здания СБУ в Черновцах неизвестные облили красной краской памятник Францу Иосифу, сообщает molbuk.ua.

Акт вандализма произошел 24 марта, потому как "масляная краска на памятнике уже сухая, а снизу, у постамента, высохнуть еще не успела", - предполагает издание, чей фотограф и сообщил о происшествии утром того же дня.

Памятник императору Австро-Венгрии Францу Иосифу I в Черновцах установлен в сквере между улицами Кордубы, Бархушина и Загулы ещё в 2009 году по инициативе уроженца города Арсения Яценюка.

В период правления Франца Иосифа (1848-1916 гг.), когда Буковина входила в состав Австро-Венгерской империи, Черновцы достигли расцвета. Город переживал бурный экономический рост и строительный бум - были созданы самые выдающиеся архитектурные памятники.
