У трубу, з якої повинен йти газ, вставлена металева заглушка, до якої прикріплено аркуш з картону з намальованим полум'ям.

У прес-службі уряду Калінінградської області пояснили, що вічний вогонь на меморіалі запалюють лише під час свят, підключаючи балонний газ.

Влада планує у 2017 році провести на територію меморіалу газопровід, щоб вогонь горів постійно.
