Грецька поліція затримала десятьох сирійських мігрантів, які під виглядом волейбольної команди з України намагалися нелегально вилетіти з країни.

Про це повідомляє Європейська правда з посиланням на Ekathimerini. Мігрантів затримали в аеропорту Афін у неділю після того, як поліція встановила, що українські паспорти, які вони представили, були відомі як викрадені або втрачені.

Чоловіки були вдягнені в однакову спортивну форму та мали однакові спортивні сумки. Крім того, у них були два волейбольних м'ячі, повідомила поліція.

Після допиту поліція встановила, що чоловіки насправді не є волейбольною командою. Їх затримали і відправили до слідчого магістрату, де їм висунуть обвинувачення у спробі незаконного виїзду з країни за допомогою викрадених або втрачених проїзних документів. Поліція заявила, що чоловіки планували потрапити в іншу країну Євросоюзу. ЗМІ повідомляють, що сирійці планували дістатись до Цюриха.

Мігранти, що втікають із конфліктних країн на Близькому Сході та у Північній Африці, часто прибувають до Греції, щоб звідти потрапити до інших країн Європи.

Нагадаємо, раніше прем'єр-міністр Греції Киріакос Міцотакіс закликав турецького президента Реджепа Таїпа Ердогана вести с Європою переговори щодо ситуації з біженцями, а не вдаватися до погроз.
