Президент США Дональд Трамп 4 лютого виступив у Конгресі зі щорічним зверненням до нації, яке запам'ятається його поведінкою і реакцією спікера Палати представників Ненсі Пелосі.

Після прибуття в Конгрес Трамп проігнорував спробу Пелосі потиснути йому руку. Спікер відповіла лише знизуванням плечима.
 

Перед початком свого виступу Трамп роздав копії своєї доповіді учасникам президії - віцепрезиденту США Майку Пенсу і спікеру Пелосі.

Президент не згадав про імпічмент у своєму виступі. Після закінчення виступу Трампа Пелосі демонстративно розірвала текст його промови. Вона заявила журналістам, що це було "найчемніше, що вона могла зробити, враховуючи наявні альтернативи".

Сьогодні відбудеться фінальне голосування в процедурі імпічменту Трампа. Очолюваний республіканцями Сенат, як очікується, виправдає його.

Трампа звинувачують за двома статтями щодо імпічменту — зловживання владою та перешкоджання роботі Конгресу.

Як повідомлялось, на тлі імпічменту у Трампа рекордний рейтинг за три роки його президентства.
