Президент США Дональд Трамп назвав єгипетського колегу Абдель Фаттаха ас-Сісі "своїм улюбленим диктатором".

Про це повідомляє "Європейська правда" з посиланням на Wall Street Journal.

Як зазначається, перед зустріччю Трампа з єгипетськими чиновниками на саміті G7 у французькому Біарріці, президент США голосно поставив питання: "Де мій улюблений диктатор?".

Таким чином, американський лідер намагався дізнатися, де знаходиться в даний момент його єгипетський колега Абдель Фаттах ас-Сісі.

Після цього в кімнаті повисла тиша, зазначає видання. Свідки того, що сталося не виключають того, що Трамп міг пожартувати.

Втім, зауваження нагадало багатьом про стиль правління ас-Сісі, який характеризується пернеслідуваннями опонентів, зокрема, тортурами і вбивствами. Примітно, що Білий дім не робив офіційних заяв з засудженням його практик.

Нагадаємо, у 2015 році на саміті "Східного партнерства" президент Єврокомісії Жан-Клод Юнкер привітав прем'єр-міністра Угорщини Віктора Орбана словами "Привіт, диктаторе!".
