Суд у Бельгії постановив, що зуб Патріса Лумумби — першого прем’єр-міністра Демократичної Республіки Конго, колишньої бельгійської колонії, — має бути повернений на батьківщину. Зуб забрав бельгійський поліцейський, який допомагав позбутися тіла Лумумби, вбитого в 1961 році. Про це повідомляє бельгійське видання Le Soir.
 

Раніше донька Лумумби Джуліана Амато закликала Бельгію повернути, як вона сказала, «релікт Патріса Емері Лумумби на землю його предків».

Про те, що Брюссель виконає рішення суду, вже заявив речник бельгійської прокуратури Ерік Ван Дюйс. Він, щоправда, уточнив, що певності в приналежності зуба Лумумбі немає, оскільки це досі не підтверджувалося ДНК-тестом.

Про зуб Лумумби стало відомо у 2000 році. Комісар поліції Бельгії Жерар Сьоте у документальному фільмі розповів, що він був одним із тих, хто позбувся тіла конголезького прем'єра після його вбивства. А перед цим — забрав у нього кілька зубів.

У 2016 році донька Сьоте під час інтерв'ю для одного з видань показала золотий зуб, який, за її словами, належав Лумумбі. Після цього проти неї до суду подав бельгійський науковець, який вимагав повернення зуба на ДРК — батьківщину Лумумби.
