Президент Туркменистана Гурбангулы Бердымухамедов поручил Академии наук страны "тщательно изучить" вопрос о возможной пользе корня солодки в лечении COVID-19.

Бердымухамедов заявил о пользе корня солодки, который "уже давно используется в медицине и народной медицине для лечения внутренних болезней, кашля, язвы почек, верхних дыхательных путей и двенадцатиперстной кишки".

Несмотря на информацию о большом количестве больных с симптомами коронавирусной инфекции и беспрецедентный уровень смертности в стране, руководство Туркменистана до сих пор не подтвердило фактов заражения COVID-19 на своей территории.

Автор многотомника "Лекарственные растения Туркменистана" Бердымухамедов в марте заявил о пользе дыма гармалы, саксаула, а также лапши с перцем для профилактики COVID-19. На фоне пандемии COVID-19 школы обязали проводить уроки здоровья по президентской книге.

Очередное продвижение туркменским президентом не доказаной научно гипотезы о лечебных свойствах растений, совпало с сообщением о планах Туркменистана по закупке вакцины против коронавируса российского производства.

Президент Туркменистана в очередной раз заявил об отсутствии коронавируса на территории страны 13 ноября, назвав это "большим достижением". Позже ВОЗ сообщила, что Туркменистан не отправляет пробы на COVID-19 на независимое исследование в референс-лаборатории ВОЗ. Договоренность сторон была достигнута в августе нынешнего года.
