Председатель Госдумы Сергей Нарышкин сравнил Совет Европы со своеобразной "прихожей Евросоюза".

"Вместо площадки общеевропейского диалога и поиска совместных решений общих проблем, которые стоят перед европейским континентом, она все больше превращается в такую своеобразную прихожую Евросоюза", - сказал спикер на заседании Открытой трибуны на тему "20 лет в Совете Европы", передает ТАСС

В связи с этим Нарышкин привел слова первого президента РФ Бориса Ельцина, который, выступая в Страсбурге в 1997 году, отметил, что Совет Европы "быстрее других избавляется от подходов "холодной войны". "Но сегодня вряд ли кто-либо сможет повторить такую оценку - конечно, кто знает истинное положение вещей", - констатировал глава нижней палаты парламента РФ.

"А вот недостатки, о которых тоже говорилось в той речи российского президента, не только сохранились, но и усугубились", - считает он.
