У четвер, 16 листопада, Міністерство оборони США випадково ретвітнуло в своєму офіційному акаунті в мікроблозі Twitter повідомлення із закликом до відставки президента Дональда Трампа.
В акаунті Пентагону з'явилося повідомлення від користувача з ніком proudresister, який закликав Трампа піти у відставку.
"Усе гранично просто. Рой Мур: йди з передвиборної гонки. Ел Франкен: звільняйся з конгресу. Дональд Трамп: йди з президентського посту", - написав користувач Twitter.
Ретвіт був незабаром вилучений із офіційного аккаунту Пентагону, а прес-секретар відомства Дана Вайт заявила, що сталася помилка.
"Оператор офіційного аккаунта @DeptofDefense в Twitter помилково ретвітнув контент, який не схвалило б Міністерство оборони. Оператор зауважив цю помилку та негайно видалив її", - написала Уайт.
