Бывший грузинский лидер Михаил Саакашвили и обладатель антипремии "Золотой Буратино 2017" в номинации "Карлсон года" в эфире телекомпании «Рустави 2» рассказал некоторые детали своего задержания. В частности, как информирует PRпортал политик заявил, что в день, когда его задерживали, 5 декабря в 7 часов утра правоохранители без малого час пытались взломать дверь квартиры, где он проживал.

Лидер «Рух нових сил» подчеркнул, что «искусственным путем были подавлены все сотовые сигналы», из-за чего он приняла решение переместиться из комнаты дома на его крышу, чтобы поймать сеть и дозвониться до своих сторонников и уведомить их о том, что происходит. 

В это же время политик отметил, что благодаря тому, что он взобрался на крышу дома, он значительно выиграл время, почти два часа, за которые «сторонники проснулись, были уведомлены о происходящем и во дворе дома уже собрались множество сторонников и журналистов ведущих телекомпаний». Экс-губернатор Одесской области сообщил также, что на крыше он добровольно позволил одеть на себя наручники, а после того, как вместе с правоохранителями вошел обратно внутрь квартиры, то он получил разрешение принять душ. Однако после длительного его нахождения в душевой, правоохранители начали стучаться к нему, после этого в комнате потасовка произошла. В итоге он опять оказался в наручниках.
