Нидерландский астронавт Андре Кёйперс случайно позвонил из космоса в американскую службу спасения 911, - сообщает PRпортал.

По словам космонавта, он пытался набрать номер Центра полетов NASA в Хьюстоне, но случайно пропустил одну цифру. Для звонка в центр управления полетами нужно сначала набрать цифру 9 для соединения с внешней линией, а затем 011. На следующий день после ошибочного звонка Кёйперс получил электронное сообщение из службы спасения.

Астронавт признался, что с орбиты достаточно легко связаться с Землей и предположил, что космонавты в 70% случаев попадают к случайным абонентам на нашей планете.

Известно, что всего Андре Кёйперс совершил два полета в космос и провел там 203 дня.
