Как сообщает ВВС, гамбургеры, картошка фри с соусами и пицца прямо в картонных коробках и обертках были разложены на серебряные подносы.

 

"У нас есть пицца, у нас есть 300 гамбургеров, много-много картофеля фри - все наши любимые продукты", - отметил Трамп.

На вопрос репортера о любимом фастфуде Трампа он ответил, что "если фастфуд американский, то нравится все".

Издание отмечает, что из-за приостановки работы правительства часть сотрудников Белого дома находится в неоплачиваемом отпуске. Из-за этого президент решил лично оплатить еду для мероприятия.

 

Сколько Трамп потратил на еду, не сообщается. Он подчеркнул, что не хотел откладывать мероприятие, несмотря на шатдаун.

Напомним, с 22 декабря в США приостановлена работа и финансирование госучреждений.

Причиной этого стала невозможность утвердить бюджет США в Конгрессе из-за конфликта между демократической оппозицией и президентом Дональдом Трампом. Американский лидер твердо намерен добиться строительства стены на южной границе с Мексикой – это одно из его главных предвыборных обещаний. В то же время демократы категорически отказываются голосовать за финансирование этого проекта стоимостью более $5 миллиардов.
