Мэр итальянского города Болоньи Вирджинио Мерола раскритиковал рестораны, которые предлагают спагетти болоньезе как традиционное итальянское блюдо и визитную карточку Болоньи.

По словам мэра, на самом деле это блюдо в Болонье не едят. Местные жители предпочитают более толстые макароны с более жидким томатным соусом. А из-за культа спагетти болоньезе туристы, которые приезжают в Болонью, ищут там именно их и не интересуются настоящей местной кухней.

Все началось с того, что Вирджинио Мерола в своем Твиттер-аккаунте назвал спагетти болоньезе «фейком» и призвал подписчиков поделиться своими наблюдениями, связанными с этим блюдом. В ответ пользователи из разных стран присылали свои фото: например, лапши быстрого приготовления болоньезе или блюда, приготовленного мамой пользователя, которое она упорно называет «спагетти болоньезе». Мэр собирает эти истории и хочет запустить уже более масштабную компанию против «фейкового» блюда.

При этом спагетти болоньезе прочно ассоциируется с Италией не только у туристов, но и у профессионалов. Например, недавно это блюдо заняло 4-е место рейтинга самых популярных блюд из разных стран мира, по версии интернет-портала Taste Atlas.
