Kinder извинился перед встревоженными родителями за то, что игрушка бренда случайно отсылала к ультраправой организации в США - Ку-клукс-клану.

На эту ассоциацию натолкнули три шарика в руке персонажа с буквами «К» и шапка или волосы героя, которые одним напоминал капюшон членов организации, а другим стиль Дональда Трампа. В сетях пользователи призвали бренд «вновь сделать шоколад великим».

Родительская компания бренда Ferrero принесла извинения, отметив, что маркировка на игрушке была ошибкой. Изначально компания планировала игрушку с одним шариком с буквой «К». Однако затем были добавлены еще два шарика, чтобы сделать структуру персонажа устойчивее.

Компания прекратила выпуск игрушки и пообещала замену уже купленным игрушкам.
