Говорячи про загрозу нового вторгнення Росії в Україну, міністр оборони США Ллойд Остін несподівано обмовився і назвав Російську Федерацію "Радянським Союзом".

Раніше держсекретар США Ентоні Блінкен закликав Москву відвести війська від кордону. Він заявив, що російське вторгнення спровокує санкції, які вдарять по Москві сильніше, ніж будь-які введені досі.

Відповідаючи на запитання журналістів, чи будуть наслідки для Росії суто економічними, Ллойд Остін відповів, що будуть використані "кращі методи" та обмовився "за Фрейдом".

"Все, що ми робимо, буде зроблено як частина міжнародної спільноти. У кращому разі ми не побачимо вторгнення Радянського Союзу в Україну", - сказав він, переплутавши РФ із СРСР.
