На сайті французької радіостанції Radio France Internationale з'явилися некрологи королеви Єлизавети, Клінта Іствуда, Пеле, Бріджит Бардо та інших літніх знаменитостей, пише BBC. Незабаром новини, які вже почали поширюватися в мережі, видалили, пославшись на "технічні проблеми".

"Ми приносимо свої вибачення всім, кого це стосується, і тим, хто стежить за нами і довіряє нам", - заявив мовник.

Проблема виникла, коли RFI переводили свій веб-сайт на іншу систему управління контентом. Як і багато ЗМІ, вони підготували безліч некрологів відомих людей, щоб одразу ж опублікувати після оголошення про смерть. Так близько сотні чернеток з'явилися на сайті радіостанції, і деякі з них передрукували інші новинні агентства.

Серед людей, про смерть яких через помилку RFI написали інші ЗМІ - верховний лідер Ірану аятолла Хомейні, колишній президент США Джиммі Картер і кубинський лідер Рауль Кастро. Радіостанція пообіцяла "негайно мобілізуватися, щоб виправити цю серйозну помилку".
