Австрійське село Фукінг (Fucking) позбудеться своєї назви, яка при прочитанні англійською мовою звучить нецензурно. Про це у вівторок, 26 листопада, оголосила місцева влада. Мерка Тарсдорфа (громади, до якої належить село) Андреа Гольцнер (Andrea Holzner) повідомила австрійській телекомпанії Oe24, що назву населеного пункту з 1 січня 2021 року замінять на Фуггінг (Fugging).

Село, у якому проживає близько 100 осіб, вже роками виступало за зміну своєї назви. Місцевих жителів дратували туристи, які приїжджали до Фукінга, щоб сфотографуватися, часто у неоднозначних позах, біля дорожнього знаку на в'їзді до села. Ці таблички також регулярно викрадали. Утім, раніше в місцевій раді не було достатньо голосів за зміну назви.

Фукінг відомий приблизно з 1070 року. На карті, датованій 1825 року, використовується написання Fuking. Утім, навіть після зміни назви туристам буде що побачити в регіоні, зазначає агенція AFP. На іншому боці австрійсько-німецького кордону, в Баварії, можна відвідати село Петтінг (Petting).
