До австралійського кодексу поведінки додадуть пункт про те, що депутатам забороняється мати сексуальні стосунки із співробітниками.

Прем’єр-міністр Австралії Малкольм Тернбулл заявив про перегляд кодексу поведінки для депутатів для того, щоб додати до нього заборону на статеві стосунки депутатів зі своїми співробітниками.

Подібне рішення стало результатом скандалу за участі 50-річного депутата та заступника прем’єр-міністра Барнабі Джойса, що зраджував дружині зі своєю медіа-консультанткою. У результаті, Джойс розлучився зі своєю дружино, з якою провів 24 роки у шлюбі, і заявив, що його коханка вагітна.

"Кодекс поведінки буде оновлено для того, щоб депутати визнати високі очікування громадськості щодо них, і що незалежно від того, вони є одруженими чи неодруженими, вони не повинні мати сексуальні відносини зі своїми співробітниками", - зазначив Тернбулл.
