Охорона Конгресу зупинила конгресмена-демократа Джона Каннінґема, коли той намагався пронести до будівлі 6 бляшанок пива, які він хотів подарувати іншому законодавцю.

Про це у Twitter повідомила журналіст видання Politico, яка стала свідком події, передає Голос Америки.

"Йому сказали, що це заборонено", - написала про реакцію охорони Лаура Баррон-Лопес.

Каннінґема було обрану до Палати представників Конгресу на виборах 2018-го року.

"Законодавцю-новачку важко знайти друзів, тож я думав змастити механізм пивком. На щастя мій колега Пітер Дефразіо його зрештою отримав! То чи можна мені тепер приєднатись до пивного об'єднання у Конгресі?" - відреагував на повідомлення сам Каннінґем.

У Палаті представників діє об'єднання законодавців на підтримку дрібних виробників пива. Загалом до нього входить 243 члени, які представляють 43 штати США.
