У 2020 році жінка втратила чоловіка, і щоб скоротати час і відволіктися, почала в'язати м'які іграшки. У Facebook Рита розповідала про своє хобі, але алгоритм сайту вирішив, що коментарі про білих свиней на її сторінці є "мовою ворожнечі". Два її пости видалили, попередивши, що за повторне порушення їй назавжди заборонять доступ до соціальної мережі.

В'язальницю дуже налякало повідомлення від Facebook, адже вона могла втратити зв'язок зі своїми друзями і родичами.

"Я зробила два абсолютно невинних коментаря, які розцінили як розпалювання ненависті, - розповіла Рита. - Всі на моїй сторінці знають, що я виросла на фермі і люблю свиней. Навіть в дитинстві я завжди їх малювала".

На щастя, команда модераторів Facebook вчасно зрозуміла, що Річ-Малкахі та її білі свині не мають нічого спільного з расизмом.

"Наші системи допустили помилку, і тепер коментарі відновлені. Іноді ми робимо помилки при перевірці контенту, тому даємо людям можливість оскаржити наші рішення", - розповіли у техпідтримці.

Коли проблема вирішилася, жінка поспішила подякувати Facebook.

"Сьогодні ви дуже порадували стареньку. Більшості людей це може здатися дрібницею, але для людини, у якої навіть ніколи не було простроченої бібліотечної книги, звинувачення у використанні мови ворожнечі було страшним", - написала вона.
