Журналістку BBC зупинили при посадці на літак з Лондона до США через її подвійне британсько-іранське громадянство.
Ведуча перської служби BBC Рана Рахімпур була зупинена в аеропорту Хітроу. Влада Сполучених Штатів повідомили їй, що вона більше не може літати в США без візи, оскільки у неї громадянство Ірану, повідомляє НВ з посиланням на The Guardian.
Згідно з новими правилами, люди з громадянством Ірану, Іраку, Сирії або Судану повинні отримувати візи для поїздок строком до 90 днів, хоча раніше мали право на безвізовий режим. Міра вводиться також і для тих, хто був у цих країнах в останні 5 років.
Нагадаємо, влада США посилила умови програм безвізового в'їзду на територію країни. Нові правила передбачають перевірку в'їжджають у США людей на предмет відвідування ними країн, в яких переховуються терористи.
