Влада італійського міста Аматриче, яке постраждало від землетрусу в кінці серпня, подала в суд на сатиричний журнал Charlie Hebdo.

Таку реакцію викликала карикатура, опублікована в номері Charlie Hebdo за 31 серпня. На карикатурі зображені потерпілі та загиблі під час землетрусу з підписами у вигляді назв традиційних страв італійської кухні, пише Media Sapiens

Після того, як на адресу Charlie Hebdo посипалася критика за перший малюнок, видання опублікувало наступний, з підписом: «Італійці, це не Charlie Hebdo будував ваші будинки, а мафія». На карикатурі зображено чоловіка, який простягає руку з-під завалів будинку.  Це був натяк на дискусію про технічний стан будівель, які зруйнувалися під час землетрусу 24 серпня.

Влада міста Аматріче подала позов до суду сусіднього міста Рієті, звинувачуючи Charlie Hebdo в дифамації. Адвокат Маріо Чікетті, який представляє позивачів, прокоментував карикатури як «огидну, безглузду і незрозумілу образу жертв катастрофи».

Раніше французький сатиричний журнал Charlie Hebdo висміяв можливість терактів на Євро-2016. Видання опублікувало цілий номер з різноманітними карикатурами на цю тему.

Крім цього, Charlie Hebdo відомий за обкладинку одного зі своїх номерів, присвячену викриттю офшорних компаній та карикатуру про ставлення ЄС до мігрантів.
