У Вірменії внесено зміни до Виборчого кодексу щодо діяльності журналістів під час виборів.

Зокрема, Центральна виборча комісії тепер має право акредитувати до 50 представників ЗМІ (журналістів, операторів, фотокореспондентів) від одного медіа для висвітлення парламентських виборів, які стартували 5 березня 2017 року, повідомляє Media Sapiens

Крім того, на виборчих дільницях тепер мають право перебувати максимум 15 представників ЗМІ і спостерігачів одночасно. Тобто, якщо на дільниці перебуватимуть 14 спостерігачів від 14 кандидатів, то туди зможе потрапити всього один журналіст.

Як повідомили MediaSapiens у Вірменському Центрі медіаініціатив, проти цих нововведень активно виступали громадські медійні організації, які вважали це обмеженням прав журналістів.

Нагадаємо, у Вірменії 2 квітня 2017 року відбудуться парламентські вибори, які важливі тим, що відповідно до конституційних поправок, ухвалених у 2015 році, Вірменія переходить від напівпрезидентської форми правління до парламентської. Це будуть перші загальнореспубліканські вибори, в результаті яких у нового парламенту буде абсолютно інший статус і повноваження.

У виборах до Національних зборів Вірменії беруть участь 9 політичних сил: 4 блоки і 5 партій.
