Нову дату виборів поки що не оголосили.

Спеціальний представник ООН по Гаїті Мурад Вахба каже, що у тимчасових притулках перебувають щонайменше 10 тисяч людей, а лікарні переповнені.

"Ми знаємо, що дуже багато будинків було пошкоджено", - заявив міністр внутрішніх справ країни Франсуа Анік Жозеф.

"З деяких будинків позривало стелю і її треба замінити, інші будинки повністю знищені", - додає міністр.

Серед зруйнованих будівель - школи і церкви, які мали послужити як виборчі дільниці.

Працівники рятувальних служб на Гаїті намагаються дістатися до ізольованих ураганом частин країни.
