Издание Financial Times опубликовало материал, в котором говорится о том, что русский язык потерял свое влияние в бывших советских республиках, и за последние двадцать лет русский язык понес значительно больше потерь, чем любой другой язык мира, передает PRпортал

Журналисты отмечают, что такая тенденция происходит из-за того, что практически все государства, находящиеся в постсоветском пространстве, включая Украину, стремятся к независимости и возрождению собственных традиций и культуры. Стив Джонсон, автор статьи, утверждает, что снижение числа русскоговорящих граждан также свидетельствует и о том, что влияние Москвы на соседние с Россией страны заметно ослабевает. Использование русского языка быстрее всего сокращается в Казахстане – в прошлом году только двадцать процентов граждан этой страны заявили, что предпочитают говорить на русском языке. В 1994 году таких людей было 33 процента.

На втором месте идут Латвия и Эстония, где число граждан, говорящих на русском языке, с 1994 года уменьшилось на 10 процентов – до 29 и 23 процентов соответственно. Тройку лидеров замкнула Украина. В 1994 году на русском языке разговаривали почти 34 процента украинцев, в прошлом году – только 24 процента граждан.
