Турецкая полиция задержала главного редактора оппозиционной светской газеты Cumhuriyet и также обыскала дома руководства и авторов редакции. Об этом сообщает Reuters.

Прокуратура выдала ордера на задержание в общей сложности 13 руководителей и авторов, включая главного редактора Мурата Сабунчу.

В свою очередь, издание Haberturk сообщает, что Сабунчу и его коллеги были задержаны в рамках расследования деятельности организации FETO Футхуллаха Гюлена".

Стоит добавить, что предыдущий редактор Cumhuriyet, Джан Дюндар был приговорен к шести годам за публикацию секретных материалов о деятельности Анкары на территории Сирии.

Ранее сообщалось, что в Турции были уволены свыше 10 тысяч госслужащих по обвинению в причастности к организации оппозиционного исламского проповедника Фетхуллаха Гюлена, которого обвиняют в организации попытки переворота 15 июля.

Кроме того турецкие власти объявили о закрытии еще 15 СМИ, включая новостное агентство Dicle и много газет и журналов за обвинения в пропаганде идей Рабочей партии Курдистана.
