Пользователей социальных сетей возмутила новая рекламная кампания косметики Benefit, призывающая школьниц «пропустить уроки, а не консилер». Шотландец Джош Кей увидел рекламу по пути на работу, и его обеспокоил её посыл: плакаты прямо говорят, что девочкам не нужно быть умными, достаточно быть красивыми.
 

«Мы постоянно говорим мальчикам, что им нужно быть сильными и умными, в то время как основная задача девочек — хорошо выглядеть, — говорит Кей. — То, что международные бренды используют неуверенность девочек в себе для собственной выгоды, по меньшей мере цинично». Мужчину сразу же поддержали другие интернет-пользователи, которые сочли рекламу возмутительной.
