Сегодня в Румынии стартует голосование на президентских выборах. Более 18,2 млн избирателей могут прийти на 18 748 участков.

Об этом сообщает агентство Euronews.

Согласно опросам, румыны поддержат действующего Клауса Йоханниса, политика, который борется со взяточничеством, и который заслужил похвалу на Западе за его приверженность верховенству закона.

Опросы общественного мнения показывают, что 60-летний Йоханнис, центристский либерал, получит около 40 % голосов. Если результаты опросов подтвердятся, то страну ждет повторный тур 24 ноября, который Клаус Йоханнис также должен выиграть.

Президент Румынии назначает премьер-министра, который имеет исполнительные полномочия, после проведения консультаций с политическими партиями. Президент также может наложить вето на законы, принятые парламентом, оспаривая их в конституционном суде или отправляя их на повторное рассмотрение.

За Йоханнисом в опросах следуют Виорика Данчила, лидер социал-демократов (СДП) и бывший премьер-министр, и Дэн Барна, глава правоцентристской оппозиции Союз спасения Румынии. Оба имеют поддержку около 20 %.

Стоит отметить, что Румыния находится под пристальным наблюдением Брюсселя за прогрессом в реформировании судебной системы с 2007 года.
