Политики Мексики обеспокоены из-за возможного российского вмешательства в выборы в стране. Об этом в интервью The Hill заявил сенатор Риос Питер, проведя аналогию с США, в выборную систему которых Россия, также вмешивалась, информирует «ДС«.
«Если Россия вмешалась в выборы в США, то есть основания полагать, следующей мишенью для нападения станет Мексика», — сказал Питер.
Он считает, что, что правительству Мексики необходимо модернизировать свой контрразведывательный потенциал, а также рассмотреть варианты кооперации с другими странами, которые могут сталкиваться с аналогичными проблемами.
В целом сенатор подчеркнул, что вмешательство России в выборы в Мексике должно быть сведено к минимуму.
Отметим, что Риос Питер представляет левоцентристскую Партию демократической революции.
