В конце 2016 года, после завершения административно-территориальной реформы, в Украине возможны одновременные внеочередные местные и парламентские выборы. Об этом заявил генеральный директор Комитета избирателей Украины Алексей Кошель, пишет Гордон

Административно-территориальная реформа предусматривает изменение границ областей и районов, уменьшение количества народных депутатов и укрупнение территориальных общин. В связи с этим, 25 октября 2015 в соответствии с действующей Конституцией должны пройти очередные местные выборы, а через год-полтора стоит провести одновременные внеочередные местные выборы и выборы в Верховную Раду Украины, заявил Кошель.

Он также отметил, что внеочередные местные и парламентские выборы должны состояться на основе нового избирательного законодательства и открытых списков.

При этом Комитет избирателей Украины настаивает на том, что очередные местные выборы нецелесообразно переносить в связи с административно-территориальной реформой, так как сейчас в стране наблюдается самый острый кризис местной власти за весь период независимости.
