Организация, которая занимается вопросами расовой дискриминации против китайцев в Канаде, Chinese Canadian National Council for Social Justice, запустила кампанию, направленную против ксенофобии, связанной с коронавирусом.

 

В центре кампании оказались бутылочки с антисептиком и этикеткой «Остановите распространение расизма». 3 марта волонтеры в костюмах биозащиты раздали бутылочки на улицах Торонто. 

Этикетка на бутылочках вела на сайт кампании StopTheSpread.ca. Инициатива быстро стала вирусной, о кампании написали в новостных изданиях, многие жители Торонто рассказали о ней в сетях. «Глобально ксенофобия и расизм по отношению к китайцам и другим азиатским сообществам начала быстро расти со вспышки нового вируса. Этот расизм отражает отношение к китайцам в Канаде, которое наблюдалось во время вспышки 2003 SARS, и ему нужно противостоять», отметили в организации. Кампания была разработана pro bono в агентстве The Hive.
