В Греции разгорелся скандал вокруг министра по вопросам миграционной политики Янниса Музаласа, который употребил название "Македония" в телевизионном эфире.

Об этом сообщает Ekathimerini, передает Европейская правда

В частности, коллега Музаласа в правительстве, министр обороны и лидер партии "Независимые греки" Панос Камменос выступил с требованием его отставки.

Музалас извинился за свою "ошибку", но Камменос заявил, что извинений будет недостаточно, и призвал премьер-министра Алексиса Ципраса уволить его.

Ципрас в среду утром созвал совещание министров, чтобы обсудить этот вопрос.

Напомним, Греция считает, что Македония "украла" название у одной из северных греческих провинций.

Спор продолжается с 1991 года - времени обретения независимости Македонией, которая до 1991 года носила название Социалистическая республика Македония, не вызывавшее сопротивления со стороны Греции. После 1991 года Греция считает, что название государства является узурпацией названия ее исторической провинции.

Из-за несогласия Греции с названием Македонии страна не может вступить в НАТО и начать переговоры о членстве в ЕС.

Напомним, ранее сообщалось, что Македония готова изменить название по требованию Греции, однако впоследствии эта информация была опровергнута.
