Міністр державного управління Естонії Михайло Корб подав у відставку через скандал, який спалахнув після його заяви про небажаність членства країни в НАТО.

Про це повідомляє портал ERR.ee.

Корб повідомив, що прийняв рішення про відставку з бажання зберегти цілісність правлячої коаліції.

"Хочу, щоб коаліція збереглася. Вважаю, що нинішня коаліція - це гарантія гарного майбутнього для Естонії. І я не хочу створювати перешкоди для роботи цієї коаліції, оскільки за ці півроку було зроблено багато. Та й попереду ще багато великих справ", - сказав він.

Раніше міністр держуправління на зустрічі з ветеранами в місті Хаапсалу сказав, що не підтримує членство Естонії в НАТО.

"Я скажу, можливо, неприємну фразу з точки зору естонців — я не підтримую членство в НАТО, - сказав міністр. - Мені подобається фінська політика з цього питання. Але якщо робити власну армію, вийде ще дорожче. Розумієте? Фіни створюють власну армію, вони окремо від НАТО, самі займаються обороною своєї держави. Але їм ніхто не прийде на допомогу".

Пізніше Корб вибачився за своє висловлювання, зазначивши, що "міністр не повинен висловлюватися так неточно".

Заяву центриста Корба піддав критиці однопартієць - прем'єр-міністр Естонії Юрі Ратас, який назвав висловлювання Корба по темі НАТО невдалим і гідним жалю. Міністр закордонних справ Свен Міксер і міністр оборони Маргус Цахкна до своєї критики додали рекомендацію Корбу залишити посаду міністра. Корба критикували представники всіх опозиційних партій, вимагаючи його відставки.
