Компания Marvel в честь 75-летия супергероя Капитан Америка планирует установить ему памятник. Как сообщает USA Today, 4-метровый памятник будет презентован на фестивале Comic-Con, который пройдет с 20 по 24 июля в Сан-Диего, а затем будет установлен в Бруклине, сообщает ZN.UA

Как заявил вице-президент Marvel Пол Гиттер, "на протяжении последних 75 лет Капитан Америка вдохновлял поколения поклонников, выступая в качестве глобального образа свободы, силы и умения совершать правильные поступки".

Памятник будет весить тонну, его украсит фраз "я просто парень из Бруклина", сказанная Капитаном Америка в "Первом Мстителе", в котором Крис Эванс впервые появился в образе этого персонажа. Поза памятника выбрана так, чтобы "демонстрировать невероятную силу Капитана Америка и его форму".

В мае на экраны вышел фильм "Первый мститель 3: Противостояние", который рассказывает о конфликте между Железным человеком и Капитаном Америкой. Причиной конфликта стал принятый правительством закон о том, что супергерои должны пройти процесс регистрации, раскрыв свои настоящие личности. Тони Старк поддержал закон, а Стив Роджерс посчитал его нарушением гражданских прав. В результате Соколиный глаз, Зимний солдат, Агент 13 и Человек-муравей станут на сторону Капитана Америки, а Черная вдова, Черная пантера и Вижн присоединятся к Железному человеку.
