Активисты из организаций, отстаивающих права чернокожих, заметили, что слоган Personal VIP – "Черный – это красиво" – совпадает с лозунгом, который использовался в США, ЮАР и других странах в целях борьбы с расизмом, пишет Сегодня.

На первоначальном варианте рекламного плаката производитель бумаги, компания Santher, поместила фото белокожей актрисы и модели Марины Руй Барбозы, завернутой в черную бумагу. Рядом с изображением девушки был написан вызвавший разногласия лозунг.

После того, как поднялась волна критики, слоган пришлось убрать.

Слоган "Черный – это красиво" появился в 1960 года среди афроамериканцев поколения Мартина Лютера Кинга, боровшихся за свои гражданские права.

Представители Santher не только убрали слоган с рекламы, но и принесли извинения, отметив, что уважают движение за равные гражданские права, и добавили: "Всегда есть время поучиться".

В свою очередь Марина Барбоза тоже извинилась у себя в Twitter за получившийся скандал:

"Глубоко сожалею, что некоторые восприняли рекламную кампанию Santher иначе, чем она изначально задумывалась. Уверена, что в намерения компании и людей, которые занимались изготовлением рекламы, никогда не входило ничего подобного, никто не собирался вызывать распри или проявлять неуважение к кому бы то ни было".
