Комітет виборців України виступає за заборону практики голосування на виборах у в’язницях

Про це сказав на прес-конференції Голова правління Комітету виборців України Олексій Кошель,пише УНІАН

«Ми повинні заборонити практику голосування у в’язницях. Наша логіка в тому, що якщо громадянин переступив через закон і відбуває покарання, він не має права як громадянин брати участь у обранні влади», - сказав Кошель.

За його словами, може статися парадоксальна ситуація, коли громадянин відбуває термін покарання за сепаратизм і одночасно він голосує за українську владу.

На переконання Кошеля, це також дозволить уникнути низки зловживань під час голосування у в’язницях.

«Можливий компроміс в тому питанні, що неучасть у виборах буде лише для тих громадян, які вчинили тяжкі злочини, для легких злочинів цю норму можна скасувати»,- додав він.
