Представители Киберполиции Украины обратились к родителям украинских детей с просьбой о повышенном контроле ребёнка, когда тот посещает социальные сети. По данным интернет-полицейских, в социальных сетях есть небезопасные группы для детей, администраторы которых доводят своих подписчиков до самоубийства. В этих «группах смерти» администраторы-нелюди придумывают для подростков суицидальные квесты (до 50 заданий), а финальным заданием становится самоубийство в режиме online — ребёнку дают задание свести счёты с жизнью, транслируя этот процесс в интернете.
Чтобы уберечь ребёнка от таких групп смерти, необходимо обращать внимание на его психологическое состояние, а также следить, в каких группах состоит и что «репостит» чадо на свою страницу. Определить, что ребёнок стал жертвой администраторов-убийц, можно следующим образом: проверять кожные покровы ребёнка на предмет травм и шрамов. Нередко в таких группах дают задание изрезать вены или вырезать на руке при помощи лезвия фигуру кита (киты для фанатов таких сообществ являются символом свободы). Также психологи и полицейские советуют заниматься своим ребёнком, уделять ему больше времени, увлечь его творческими или спортивными кружками.
Также полиция советуют родителям регулярно «подсматривать» в гаджеты ребёнка, просматривать фотографии и видео, которые хранятся на мобильных телефонах — многие квесты в «группах смерти» предусматривают, что после нанесения травм ребёнок должен сфотографировать результат и отправить его администраторам сообщества. Кроме того, киберполиция просит родителей обмениваться информацией друг с другом о таких «группах смерти» — каждый день появляются новые сообщества такой тематики, и ежедневно на них подписываются десятки украинцев-подростков.
