У різних країнах світу у неділю, у міжнародний День проти гомофобії і трансфобії, тривають акції за права представників ЛГБТ-спільноти. Люди виходять на акції зі словами підтримки представників сексуальних меншин. Популярним на масових заходах у неділю є «прайд-прапор» – різнокольоровий стяг, що є міжнародним символом ЛГБТ-спільноти.

У Франції у неділю протестантська церква дозволила своїм пасторам благословляти шлюби одностатевих пар. На рівні держави одностатеві шлюби у Франції дозволили два роки тому.

Акції проти гомофобії тривали у неділю й у Росії, де заборонено пропаганду сексуальних меншин. У Хабаровську на активіста, який хотів взяти участь в акції за права ЛГБТ-спільноти, скоїли напад, у нього струс мозку.

В Україні акції відбулися зокрема у Києві й Одесі, ніяких сутичок не зафіксовано.

17 травня 1990 року гомосексуальність було виключено з Міжнародної класифікації хвороб і зі списку психічних відхилень. Правозахисники, однак, і далі фіксують дискримінацію представників ЛГБТ-спільноти у різних регіонах світу.
