У Македонії 5 червня відбудуться дострокові парламентські вибори. Про підписання відповідної постанови повідомив 15 квітня спікер парламенту Трайко Веляноскі.

Раніше депутати проголосували за розпуск парламенту. Рішення стало частиною досягнутих за посередництва ЄС домовленостей про розв’'язання політичної кризи в країні, пов’язаної зі скандалом навколо прослуховування телефонів.

Недавнє рішення президента Македонії Ґеорґе Іванова припинити розслідування щодо понад 50 громадських діячів, включно з високопоставленими політиками, спричинило кількаденні вуличні протести в Скоп’є.

Демонстранти вимагають, щоб президент або скасував рішення, або пішов у відставку. Вони також виступають за перенесення виборів на більш пізній термін. Лідер «Соціал-демократичного союзу» Зоран Заєв заявив, що опозиція має намір бойкотувати оголошене голосування, оскільки немає умов для того, щбо ці вибори можна було вважати вільними і справедливими.
