Мережа мікроблогів Twitter розширила ліміт символів у твітах з 140 до 280 знаків для всіх користувачів.

 Оновлення стане доступним для усіх користувачів найближчим часом. Винятками залишаться лише японська, китайська та корейська мови, в яких через певні особливості можна написати більше при меншій кількості символів.

Twitter почала тестувати удвічі більшу довжину постів у вересні. Тоді такий функціонал став доступним обмеженому колу акаунтів. За час цього експерименту користувачі тільки в 5% випадків відправляли повідомлення довше 140 символів. І лише 2% писали пости довші 190 символів. Водночас ті, хто публікував довгі твіти, отримували більше лайків, ретвітів і підписників, підрахували в компанії.

Як писав MediaSapiens, Twitter також працює над новою функцією, яка дозволить користувачам зберігати дописи в закладках. Окрім того, компанія пообіцяла запровадити спеціальне маркування для політичної реклами на тлі розслідування щодо втручання Росії в президентські вибори у США через соціальні мережі.
