. Також і ній планується створити систему моніторингу, сповіщення про термінові новини та тенденції й відомості про те, що написали підписники акаунта. Також у цій підписці не буде реклами.

Джерела, близькі до Twitter, повідомили The Verge, що поки розробка нової версії поки не почалась, але компанія почала оцінювати зацікавленість з боку користувачів. Імовірно, що нові функції запровадять через клієнт Tweetdeck.

За даними Reuters, Twitter вирішила запровадити платну підписку через те, що компанія не змогла залучити достатню аудиторію для стабільного рекламного доходу. За останній місяць аудиторія користувачів сервісу налічувала 319 мільйонів осіб. 

Нещодавно дослідники Університету Південної Каліфорнії оприлюднили результати свого дослідження, згідно з яким від 9% до 15% активних користувачів Twitter є ботами. За власними оцінками Twitter, частка ботів серед користувачів сервісу значно менше і становить близько 8,5%.
