Twitter оголосив про партнерство з Foursquare. Соцмережі працюватимуть над тим, щоб дати користувачам можливість у своїх твітах «тегати» більш детальні локації.

Новий проект двох соцмереж спрямований на те, щоб дати користувачам можливість позначати у дописах більш детальні локації, ніж міста чи квартали. Передбачається, що буде створена велика база даних із пам’яток, підприємств та інших місць, щоби географічні теги були більш інформативними.

Речник Twitter  розповів  сайту Mashable, що нова опція буде доступна у США та Канаді найближчими тижнями. В інших країнах вона з’явиться пізніше.

За допомогою нової функції користувачі зможуть вибирати із випадаючого меню найближчі об’єкти. Базуватиметься ця можливість на «чек-інах» (check-ins),  які роблять мільйони користувачів Foursquare. Ця соцмережа спеціалізується саме на інформації про географічне розташування користувачів.
