Сеть микроблогов Twitter больше не будет показывать рекламу активным пользователям. Соцсеть уже существенно сократила количество объявлений или убрала их вовсе для маленькой группы своих самых активных пользователей, сообщает Re/code.

Критерии, по которым будет оцениваться популярность и активность, пока не представлены, но пользователи, имеющие большое количество подписок, уже обратили внимание на сокращение количества рекламы в ленте. 

Инициатива Twitter по сокращению количества показа рекламы активным пользователям, по предположению Re/code, связана с необходимостью привлечения соцсетью новых пользователей и ее ориентацией на пожелания постоянной аудитории.

Re/code также предполагает, что изменения в политике компании вероятно связаны с кадровыми перестановками внутри нее. Подтвердились слухи о том, что руководитель инженерного подразделения Алекс Реттер, директор по продукту компании Кевин Вайль, глава отдела медиа Кэти Стэнтон и глава HR-отдела Брайан Шиппер покидают компанию.

Отметим, что выручка от показа рекламы компанией Twitter за 2015 год составляет около $2,2 млрд.
