Президент США Дональд Трамп пожертвує всю свою зарплату за рік на благодійність.

Про це повідомляє ВВС Україна з посиланням на представника Білого дому Шона Спайсера.

"Його зарплата становить 400 тисяч доларів на рік", - йдеться у повідомленні.

За словами Спайсера, американський президент хоче, щоб журналісти з пулу Білого дому, яких він зазвичай різко критикує, допомогли визначити, на які саме цілі підуть ці гроші.

Під час своєї виборчої кампанії Дональд Трамп говорив, що не планує отримувати зарплату - за винятком встановленого законом мінімуму в 1 долар.

Раніше його критикували за те, що він практично нічого не жертвував на благодійність під час своєї багаторічної кар'єри в бізнесі.

У рейтингу журналу Forbes в 2016 році статки Дональда Трампа оціненені в 3,7 мільярда доларів.

Серед попередніх президентів США на благодійність свою зарплату жертвували Герберт Гувер і Джон Кеннеді.
