На вулиці столиці Мексики вийшли кілька тисяч людей, вимагаючи відставки президента країни Енріке Пенья Ньєто. Мітинг відбувся напередодні Дня незалежності Мексики. За оцінками влади Мехіко, кількість протестувальників склала близько п'яти тисяч осіб. Відомостей про їхні сутички з правоохоронними органами не надходило, повідомляє Корреспондент.

 

В акції протесту взяли участь батьки і однокурсники 43-х студентів, які зникли безвісти в місті Ігуала в штаті Герреро 26 вересня 2014 року.

"Суспільство втомилося від того, що сталося за час цього президентського терміну, і таким чином ми демонструємо нашу відразу", - цитує радіостанція MVS Noticias Омара Гарсіа, якому вдалося пережити напад в Ігуалі.

Учасники маніфестації скандували "Геть Пенью" і "Боротьба триває".

У ході трагічних подій в Ігуалі загинули шестеро людей, понад 20 отримали поранення, ще 43 зникли безвісти. Владі вдалося встановити, що корумповані поліцейські передали їх членам угруповання "Геррерос Унідос", які, імовірно, розправилися з ними, після чого знищили їхні тіла. Проте, батьки зниклих молодих людей наполягають на продовженні пошуків.
