В інтерв'ю західним ЗМІ американський президент Барак Обама дав відверту оцінку своєму російському колезі Володимиру Путіну. Дослівну цитату "He's not completely stupid" кремлівські ЗМІ розцінили по-своєму, чим викликали сміх у соцмережах, повідомляє Укрінформ.

Описуючи свої відносини з Путіним, Обама підкреслив, що президент РФ вкрай зацікавлений у тому, щоб виглядати рівноправним партнером США, оскільки «не такий уже й дурень».

Але російські "Известия" цю фразу переклали інакше й обсипали Путіна компліментами від імені Обами: "Розумний, пунктуальний, рішучий". Потім, щоправда, зрозуміли, що переборщили і вирішили "виправитися":

Невідповідність одразу ж помітив російський опозиціонер Олексій Навальний: "Газета "Известия" переклала слова Обами "He's not completely stupid" як "Путін дуже розумний".
